Negotiation

The Negotiation Committee is a special ‘ad hoc’ or a temporary committee that is formed to prepare collective bargaining proposals and negotiate a Collective Agreement. This committee is established at least six (6) months prior to the expiry of the Local’s Collective Agreement and will be automatically disbanded when a new Collective Agreement has been signed.

The Committee shall consist of the following members;
The President,
the three Regional Vice-Presidents,
and three local members elected at each of the Regional Membership Meetings.
In addition, the CUPE Representative assigned to the Local shall be a non-voting member of the Committee and shall be consulted at all stages from formulating proposals, through negotiations, to contract ratification by the membership.
