Our current Collective Agreement between the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board and CUPE Local 3890 runs from 2012 to 2015.
Even though the end date has passed, this agreement will remain in force until replaced by a new agreement.
Our bylaws set out the rules for how our local membership elects our representatives, and how the local is run.
Our Collective Agreement consists of many pages of benefit provisions. Most are self-explanatory, like hours of work, wages, pensions, health benefits, sick leave, etc. but there are some more benefits that are not so obvious. We will list some here.
Our pension plan is offered by the NSSBA (Nova Scotia School Boards Association) and is administered by Morneau Shepell. Our own HR department can answer some basic questions about how the plan works, but a guide, put out by the NSSBA offers a more detailed look at the plan.
